Art on Display

J has recently been in the spotlight for his art work. This rendition of "Starry Night" was displayed in the glass case in the main hallway of his school. His "Day of the Dead" mask was on display at the public library during the month of February.

Grandma Betty

One of the best parts about our visits to Louisiana is our time with Grandma Betty. The boys adore her. She has the most amazing fish pond, makes the best lemonade, and always has plenty of M&M's on hand. She teaches them about birds and kittens and has a neat cabinet full of toys that have stood the test of time.

We tried to capture a few generational photos on one of our visits to Grandma's house. The youngest generation didn't fare as well as the eldest.

And... of course, our trip wouldn't have been complete without a hug from Maw.

Christmas Fireworks

Fireworks for Christmas? This is another tradition we have adopted from the Wilhelmi family. I must admit that this one is kind of fun. When we are in Louisiana, Santa brings fireworks for the stockings of all the good boys and girls...well boys, as we have no girls. Maybe one day he'll bring fireworks to my niece.

Christmas: The Year of the Tiger

Christmas was fantastic this year! We so enjoyed our time with family, and our boys loved their special gifts from Santa.

J and I really loved that Mer and Aunt Brooke made everyone Tiger pj pants as a hospitality gift. Upon arrival at Mer and Pop's house, everyone was given a pair of fuzzy tiger pants. They certainly kept us warm at night and made for some fun pictures, but the best part is that only a handful of us are actually Tiger fans. Our Tulane relatives were good sports. We give them extra points for having a great attitude!

Christmas Eve 2010

We spent Christmas in Louisiana this year. Our adventures began with Aunt Barrie leading the pack as they decorated rocks for Grandma Betty's fish pond. We enjoyed the nice weather and spent some quality time with Mer's side of the family.

The White Family Christmas

I realize now more than ever that the time we spend at the river with our cousins is precious. This year when we gathered for Christmas, it was like seeing long lost brothers, aunts, and uncles instead of the 2nd or 3rd cousins we really are. I think the pictures certainly tell the story.

Even Zeke and Ziggy had fun hanging out...literally!
