1st Grade Musical

J's 1st grade musical was quite entertaining. Normally he is the life of the party, but something about his cowboy attire or the large crowd changed his demeanor. He was super serious and did his best not to crack a smile or do any of the choreographed dance moves. When the musical was over, one of our music teachers commented that real cowboys don't dance.

Scouts at the San Antonio Zoo

The Tiger Cubs went on a sleepover at the San Antonio Zoo. They dissected and owl pellet and took a night tour of the zoo. The next morning they had breakfast and were able to explore the zoo in the daylight hours. As you can see, J loved every second of it. Thanks, Dad!

Flashback to 2005...

This was the first time J went to the zoo. He's on the left with the pacifier. Notice K on the same statue of the Komodo dragon. He was 3.

Crowe's Nest Farms

On Monday of this week, I went on K's field trip. On Friday, I attended J's field trip. We went to Crowe's Nest Farms. They rescue animals and care for them on the farm. It was a beautiful day and my little nature-lover had a blast!

YMCA Field Trip

K's class went to a YMCA park for their field trip this year. It was the most relaxing adult field trip I've ever attended (not sure if it was super organized or if I'm just not used to field trips with 3rd graders). The children went to different stations led by YMCA counselors to learn about nature.

Soccer Cubs

Mighty tried soccer cubs in the spring. Unfortunately, his first day was his best day. He was not a fan of more soccer on the weekends. I think having to go to 3 soccer games every Saturday was not in the cards. Maybe we'll try again when he's a little older. Lesson learned!

Turning 7

We chose a backyard movie theme for J's 7th birthday. The theater was complete with birthday bucks to spend at the concession stand, a Hollywood Walk of Fame, pin the antenna on the TV, and a popcorn pinata. Needless to say the boys had a tremendous amount of fun!

You might notice a very wiggly tooth in some of these pictures. We are proud to report that the tooth came out the day after his party.

Happy 7th Birthday, Big Guy!
