Kindergarten Graduation

Memories of J's Graduation...

Lego Fun

The boys got creative with their Lego's. They spelled out the word "Longhorn" for UT and built a tower like the one on campus. Then they made "LSU" and built a tower like the one on our campus...sort of. We definitely needed J and K's interpretation to make sense of it all.

The UT tower is tall but no one can go inside it. The LSU tower is short and wide, but it is cool because you can go inside. Hmmm.

J attempting an LSU hand signal.

K with his hand signal for UT.

Mighty's Soccer Debut

My good friend, Emily, invited us to indoor soccer. Her daughter was able to bring a friend to one of the sessions. We thought it would be great for Mighty to get a little socialization.

Needless to say, it was an adventure. He was super excited about getting to wear J's old uniform and was decent at dribbling, but he didn't have a clue about how to wait for his turn or stand in a line. Yikes! School is going to be interesting...

BPE Art Show

We were thrilled that the school art show was the same night as the Kindergarten Musical this year. We were able to knock them both out in one visit.

Frog and Toad

The Kindergarten musical was Frog and Toad this year. We weren't sure what to expect. With K, the musicals have been quite entertaining because he refuses to perform at all. J was a little different. He was very animated and "into" the performance. We were smiling the whole time! The scary part is that the music teacher told us after the show that this was the toned down version. In rehearsal he was an even bigger ham!

He even had a speaking part to help move the story along. He never complained about memorizing his line and he blurted it out like a champ. I guess his creative side continues to shine through...

Flat Stanley visits New York

K's class did a unit on Flat Stanley this year. The students each created their own Flat Stanley to send on an adventure through the mail. K sent his to Uncle Don Marshall and Aunt Barrie in New York City. From the looks of it, Flat Stanley had a great time seeing the sites.

Last Soccer Game

K has decided to take a break from soccer. We understand that year 'round soccer for a couple of years could cause an 8 year old to make this decision, but we are somewhat sad. Hopefully this will not be the last time we see our guy on the field. We've all made some wonderful friends through our soccer team. Not only would we miss the game, but also we'd miss our soccer family.
