We give Sweet Berry Farms two thumbs up! We were able to make our own scarecrow, go on a hayride, go through a corn maze, cut fresh flowers, and take pictures with some really cool pumpkins. We will definitely go back next year, but I think I would go in the morning. It was quite warm in the afternoon and the boys weren't too excited about pictures in the heat.

Sweet Berry Farms
Over the summer, my mom gave me a magazine which featured the top 110 things to do in Austin and the surrounding area. One of the places that caught my eye was Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls. In the spring and summer they offer berry picking and in the fall they have a wonderful pumpkin patch.

TRF BBQ Cook-Off
After many family recommendations, we decided to attend the TRF BBQ Cook-Off instead of the real festival. The promise of no lines for rides, getting to see more local people, and more time with family won us over.
We had a great time and all of those things proved to be true, but I did miss the festival atmosphere. Not sure what will be in the cards for next year, but I'm glad we did it. The pictures will do a better job of telling this one than I ever could.
Enjoy!

Snack on the 1st Day of School
I was able to reap the benefits of being a part-time employee on the first day of school. I planned a surprise snack for the boys. I gathered all of the materials and made a batch of cupcakes for us to decorate together...apple cupcakes from Family Fun magazine.
We had a blast and were able to share some of our sweet treats with teachers when we went back to school to pick up Mighty.

First Day of School X 2
Mighty had his very first day of school about a week before his brothers did. We decided to send him during the teacher work week so he might be a little better adjusted when the real day came around.
Mighty was in a great mood for his first day of school. He had a bounce in his step and seemed to love all of the attention he was getting at home. It's kind of fun to be the only one going to school with an entourage to support you.

He hung up his backpack and explored the room with K and J. They were great about pointing out their favorite parts of the classroom and guiding him as he explored the room. He even laid on the couch to make a phone call.

Little did we know the fun would come to a quick halt. When it was time for us to say good-bye. Things did not go well and they didn't get better for about 4 weeks.
We got to experience the first day of school all over again the following week. The big boys were excited about seeing old friends and about meeting new ones. Mighty was doubtful.
