Secret Service Agent

One of our many dress up moments captured by the camera. One day he'll thank us for this!

Snack on the 1st Day of School

I was able to reap the benefits of being a part-time employee on the first day of school. I planned a surprise snack for the boys. I gathered all of the materials and made a batch of cupcakes for us to decorate together...apple cupcakes from Family Fun magazine.

We had a blast and were able to share some of our sweet treats with teachers when we went back to school to pick up Mighty.

First Day of School X 2

Mighty had his very first day of school about a week before his brothers did. We decided to send him during the teacher work week so he might be a little better adjusted when the real day came around.

Mighty was in a great mood for his first day of school. He had a bounce in his step and seemed to love all of the attention he was getting at home. It's kind of fun to be the only one going to school with an entourage to support you.

He hung up his backpack and explored the room with K and J. They were great about pointing out their favorite parts of the classroom and guiding him as he explored the room. He even laid on the couch to make a phone call.

Little did we know the fun would come to a quick halt. When it was time for us to say good-bye. Things did not go well and they didn't get better for about 4 weeks.

We got to experience the first day of school all over again the following week. The big boys were excited about seeing old friends and about meeting new ones. Mighty was doubtful.

V-Day

The big day finally arrived! We couldn't wait to get to camp to pick up K. We went the night before and hid out with Mer and Pop.

We took this picture near the Rattlesnake cabin shortly after our first hugs and kisses. K was so proud. He couldn't wait to show us his bunk, his horse, and of course to introduce us to his new friends.

Here is his horse, Rance or Rancer...yet to be determined

These are his counselors.

The boys had water park for one of their V-Day activities. This is part of his cabin waiting to OD in.

They also had canoeing on V-Day, only interesting because they didn't have it all term. Needless to say, we were a little anxious about the first time on the water, but they all did really well.

J with the Waring sisters... They call themselves triplets because they were born on the same day in the same year and spent a great deal of time together at camp over the years.

Brotherly Love

J made this for the first letter he sent to K while he was at camp. He really missed his brother over the 3 weeks and this was his way of letting K know. When he loves you, J shares his art with you.

21 Days of Fun

The CLH photography crew posts pictures each evening of the campers at their activities. These are a few of the moments they captured of our kiddo. We were so grateful to have these as we only received one letter from K until the day before we picked him up. If we didn't have these pictures, we would have been devastated.

I don't have any idea how our parents managed to make it 3 weeks without knowing much.

The Frio

While K was at camp, we took our 2nd annual trip to the Frio. Once again we had 3 houses full of family and friends. It was great fun! The only regret we have is that the time can't be longer. It's so good to spend relaxing time with relatives we don't see often enough...it gives our children a chance to know each other and a chance to know our aunts and uncles in a way that wouldn't be possible without this trip.
