Birthday Boys
We celebrated J's birthday in Louisiana. We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Somehow we managed to only capture our cake time. Here are my boys helping dad celebrate his big day.

Easter in Maryland
We spent Easter this year in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. We so enjoyed spending time with Aunt Brooke, Uncle Simon, Uncle Don, Carter and Hollis. We somehow managed to do our traditional Easter activities and fit in some sightseeing. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore. There's always next time!
Mighty's 4th Birthday
Mighty's real birthday was in the middle of the week so his birthday celebration seemed to last forever. We had a tiny family dinner with cake and gifts on his real birthday and a party for friends on Friday of that week.

When we arrived at school on Friday, we were greeted by many beautiful young ladies all wearing green. They quickly let us know that Mighty had told them to wear green for his birthday...his favorite color and a garbage man's dream.

We were very fortunate to have a recycling truck visit our party. All of the children were given an opportunity to "drive" the truck, and the birthday boy was able to work the hopper. The recycling center even sent him a model of our current recycling cans. Needless to say, Mighty was more than a little excited.

Spring Art Show
We always enjoy attending J's art show. He is still very passionate about his artwork and is improving every week (if not every day). We owe a huge thank you to Mr. Joe for keeping J interested and allowing him to express himself through his art. His love of animals and nature is always evident. This year he chose a wolf painting for his entry.

1st Grade Musical
J's 1st grade musical was quite entertaining. Normally he is the life of the party, but something about his cowboy attire or the large crowd changed his demeanor. He was super serious and did his best not to crack a smile or do any of the choreographed dance moves. When the musical was over, one of our music teachers commented that real cowboys don't dance.
