Blue and Gold Banquet

The boys have thoroughly enjoyed Scouting this year. We worked hard all year to earn the Tiger Cub rank and the Bear rank, complete with a billion electives. Along the way, we discovered a family love of camping. I use the term family rather loosely. Let's say the males in our household love camping. I'm a work in progress.

The Blue and Gold Banquet had a "space" theme this year. Our dens worked hard to make cool centerpieces that reflected the theme and the boys' individual personalities. K's group made a solar system, complete with a planet designed by each boy. J's group made astronauts walking on the moon.

We were even able to see a "crossover ceremony." Our boys were mesmerized by the ceremony. On the way home, their dad told them about his crossover ceremony as a scout. He claims to have very vivid memories of it. His ceremony was in the woods with what he believes to be real Indians. We'll have to ask Mer and Pop about this one...
